CSI Ropes Course

During the 5th week of the semester we attended the CSI ropes course. This course on the CSI campus is known to be the biggest in the west. It allows you to be active with your fellow classmates as well as build teamwork and trust. Our activities that day included a rock wall, zip line, climbing a power pole and jumping out to a trapeze bar, and two individuals walking a tight rope while holding hands to balance each other. We were instructed to venture out of our comfort zone and into a growth zone where we learn to face our fears and help each other. For some of us, we crossed the fine line of growth zone into panic zone. Through compassion and support we were able to talk each other through these terrifying moments and give each other encouragement and support. This course helped us realize how supportive Cindy is, how encouraging Erica is, how focused Jill is, and how dedicated Emily is. It also showed us how athletic Barb is, how fun-loving Kylar is, how determined Michelle is, how fearless Mollee is, how brave SaBrenna is, how adventurous Tasha is, and how driven Tiffany is.

What was your favorite activity and why?

My favorite activity was the zip line. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to go on a zip line and I was finally able to! I also really liked the rock wall even though it was a little scary! My least favorite was the one where two of us had to go out onto those tiny wires! Even though Tasha was a really good partner it still was extremely scary!
